Kami Jo Lipps
Kami Jo is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Wisconsin. She earned her Master’s degree at Northern Illinois University’s COAMFT accredited program for Marriage & Family Therapy. Kami Jo is a clinical member of AAMFT and WAMFT, as well as the American Association of Christian Counselors. She has also completed the requirements and been granted Board Certification as a Professional Christian Counselor by the American Association of Christian Counselors. Her areas of special interest include relationship difficulties, child behavioral problems, family stress, women’s issues, trauma, anxiety and depression.
Kami Jo utilizes a Bible-based approach to working with individuals, couples, and families, as God’s Word is the source for dealing with all of life’s challenges. She views human beings from a systemic approach, realizing our lives exist in the context of our families, jobs, school, community, etc. Kami Jo uses an integrated array of therapeutic approaches and techniques to promote change, including experiential, cognitive-behavioral, and psycho-educational techniques. She is also a practitioner of the PET-C approach for counseling couples. She has a knack for connecting with clients on an emotional level and her therapy style has been described as a great balance of both challenging and encouraging clients to meet their goals.
